Emma and more

I can't believe it is the 3rd week of October already! I had a friend come and visit me this past weekend. Her name is Emily and we went to high school together. It was so nice to see her! Especially down here in Kansas. She kept saying she liked Garden City... I think she might change her mind if she lived here. But I do agree with her that I've got amazing friends here. She got to meet a lot of people and we definitely had fun. We ended up going to Boo at the Zoo. It started at 5 and I figured by 5:30 the line would be shorter and not too busy. Boy was I wrong. We stood in line for an hour! There were so many people there.... most of them being kids all dressed up in their costumes. She got to meet Shawn... who I'm sure most of you haven't heard about unless you talked to my mom. But I'll introduce you to him now. He's also a teacher here in Garden. He teaches 1st grade at another elementary school. We met at the Teacher Resource Center and then hung out a lot a the dog park and church. And you'll never guess cause I'm in Kansas but he's also from Michigan. Well other than Emily and Shawn there isn't much else new. I have conferences coming up so I've been keeping busy with that. I hear the weather in Michigan is getting colder. It's been warm here (78 this past weekend) but is colder today (64). McCarty is still doing well and loving the sun.
